Homemade Bailey's Irish Cream Recipe

It’s Cocktail time- hooray!  I don’t know about you, but in South Florida we are starting our St. Paddy’s Day celebrations this weekend with the annual Irish Parade and Festival.  For those of you who are looking for an easy and classic DIY project this weekend, try making some Irish Cream (just like Bailey’s, but better!).

So, I know what you’re thinking: why would anyone make an Irish Cream at home when they could just run to the store and buy it?  For starters, it’s cheaper!  Most of the ingredients below are likely to be sitting in your kitchen cabinets just begging to be used.  Secondly, it’s fun to make your own cocktails and meals.  No one can give a meal or a drink your special touch, except you!  Finally, it’s because you’re an innovative beast that loves the process of creating.  Enjoy!

1 cup heavy cream
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 2/3 cups Irish whiskey
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract

In a blender, combine heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, Irish whiskey, instant coffee, chocolate syrup, vanilla extract, and almond extract.  Blend on high for 30 seconds. Store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator.  Shake well before serving.  Serve on the rocks!

  1. I made this last weekend as an after dinner dessert drink and it was amazing! The next morning we used the leftover Irish cream in our coffee. Best cup of coffee ever.
